Hailing from the second generation of a famous local shoe making family, Karina Ng is head over heels for shoes. After graduating from college, she joined her uncle as an apprentice in his shoe making factory. Through blood, sweat and tears, she built up her career and passion over the years in the fashion industry. When her uncle died in 1992, she continued his legacy, along with the support of her family and workers. Through time, she mastered the business in a way that no other competitor could and even pursued a shoe design course at St. Martin College of London, graduating with distinctions. Shoe making is not about the product but is an art in itself. After she diversified her business, Karina was approached by some leading designers such as Micheal Ong, the Toi brothers of Zang Toi, Melinda Looi, Pamela Roland of New York, Jimmy Choo of London, Bernard Chandran of London and Kuala Lumpur, among others, in 1998 for some great challenges. Till now, she regards these great names as her mentors and friends.
